Dried dates are wrinkled outside, but sweet, delicious and sticky inside. They have flavor examples: chocolate, caramel, butterscotch, honey, nuts.
We harvest our dates between October through December depending on the variety.
The Thoory and Kway are the driest varieties. The Thoory date is firm with a sweet, cashew-like flavor; while the Kway has the same texture with a toasty flavor profile.
The King Medjool and Barhi Date Fruit are the softest varieties. King Medjool dates are big and luxurious; Barhi dates are creamy with a caramel-like flavor.
Our date selection consists of over 16 varieties. That's a lotta Dates!
Yes, you can eat fresh, raw dates just as they are! Date fruits are great as a snack; or with a cup of coffee or mug of tea alongside to cut the sweetness. There are many ways to enjoy fresh dates. You can add them to your sweet or savory dishes and desserts. You can cook them down with enough moisture and make a great filling for filled sugar cookies or bread pudding instead of raisins.
All date varieties – fresh or dried – contain different types of antioxidants. Fresh dates contain carotenoids and anthocyanins, while dried dates are full of polyphenols.
Dates are actually ripened in four stages. These stages are typically known by their Arabic names: kimri (green and unripe), khalal (ripe and crunchy), rhutab (ripe and soft), and tamr (ripe and sun-dried).
The date palm can grow up to 75 feet tall. Its stem is marked with the pruned stubs of old leaf bases that end in a crown of beautiful pinnate leaves about 16 feet long. It's fruit bunches protrude from top of the tree and hang down around the beginning of the palm leaves. Leaves are typically green in color and the stem is typically brown in color. Fruit bunches are characterized by a combination of white, off-white, or yellow vines with date fruit at the end that varies in color depending on the variant of date fruit.

Yes, Oasis dates are naturally sun dried, raw, and grown the Organic way in our California farms.
Sugar within the fruit sometimes migrates through osmosis from inside to the outside causing white specs on the surface. You can revert the sugar back into the dates easily. Just soak your date fruit in hot water or your favorite milk. Soaking the dates returns lost moisture to the fruit and softens the flesh, leaving them with the same super-sweet flavor!
